Paralegal/Legal Executive

We are now actively looking to recruit two Paralegal/Legal Executives to handle Property Litigation work within our experienced and expanding team.  The ideal applicant should already be handling their own caseload and have some litigation experience.

The firm are offering the opportunity for the suitable candidate to work fully or partially remotely, with all of the benefits of home working, but with the ability to also work from our modern offices in East Sussex should you wish/need to from time to time.

This is a full-time, permanent role which offers a competitive salary, generous pension, bonus scheme and other perks.

Requirements for the role

  • You will be required to handle, with supervision, claims both within the Court and First Tier and Upper Tribunals in addition to providing advice on issues arising from leases/transfers and statutory rules that apply to the management of residential property, estates and tenancies

  • Whilst the fee earners of the firm are predominantly home based, we work as a team and therefore you must be self motivated, forward thinking and work well on your own but also able to work well within a supporting team

  • You must have exemplary client handling skills and be able to build and manage strong relationships with both lay and professional clients

  • You must be IT literate, have an eye for detail, excellent written communication skills and a desire to continuously develop your own technical expertise

  • You must be pro-active ensuring that files are managed effectively meeting all set deadlines

  • You will need to be results driven, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and taking direction

  • You will need to be a strong team player with an open willingness to support others.

Support Team Assistant

To work as part of a team dealing with the day to day running of the office and administrative support to seven fee earners.

The successful applicant needs to be proficient in the use of Outlook, Word and Excel and be able to touch type to a good standard.  The firm uses a case management system, full training for which will be provided.

Previous legal experience preferred.

Main duties of the role include:

 ·        General office duties - answering telephone calls, scanning, post, closing files, printing, filing, etc

·         Setting up new files on the system and preparing initial letters to clients

·         Preparation of letters before action

·         Setting up reminders on case plans

·         Preparing and sending client matter reports

·         Assisting with preparing bills for the monthly billing run

·         Preparation of accounts dockets

·         Bundle preparation

Full time.

Days and hours - Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, one hour for lunch.

This is an office based role.

There is free parking in Heathfield.  We do have a few parking spaces at the office which are available on a first come, first served basis.
